Jack in the Box newest victim of prank calling damages

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Another schemer caused workers to damage another fast food restaurant, this time in Indianapolis.

Workers at Jack in the Box on North Post Road, near East 21st Street, damaged the business after getting a prank phone call.

This comes after prank callers had Burger King workers smash a window at a restaurant in Minnesota.

According to a police report, the fast food restaurant received the phone call Sunday night. The caller told a Jack in the Box worker to break the window and rip the fire extinguisher system out of the ceiling because of a gas leak. The worker did what the prank caller instructed.

The restaurant was open for business on Tuesday morning. One of the windows was boarded up. An employee said the fire extinguisher system had been fixed.

Jack in the Box is one of several victims of the hoax. Besides the Burger King in Minnesota, restaurants in Arizona, California and Oklahoma have also been targeted by similar pranks.
