Ball State employee arrested for child pornography

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – A Ball State employee was arrested on preliminary possession of child pornography charges.

According to the University, Brian Siebenaler, a math instructor was barred from campus after using a university computer on May 7.

Ball State Police arrested Siebenaler along with the Indiana State Police Cyber Crime Unit.

The investigation came after reviewed information showed a campus computer was being used to access suspicious information.

Siebenaler has worked at Ball State since 1992. He was not currently teaching any classes.

This arrest comes after a BSU employee was arrested in April on similar charges.

Randal Schmidt, a maintenance supervisor and 20-year employee of the university, was suspended, barred from campus and had his office computer confiscated on April 4.

He has voluntarily ended his employment.
