Search of New Castle residence leads to drug arrest
NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) – One man was arrested on drug charges following search of a New Castle residence Thursday morning.
According to the Indiana State Police, officers carried out a search warrant on a residence and a garage in the 1300 block of South 19th Street in New Castle around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
The police search and arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine. During the search of the garage, a meth lab was found and inside the home, heroin and syringes were also discovered.
45-year-old Joseph Elllis was taken into custody and faces a number of preliminary charges including possession of herion, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a syringe.
Ellis was transported to the Henry County Jail.
Police said the meth lab investigation is still ongoing and more arrests and charges could be coming.
