DNR investigating large fish kill in Rush, Decatur counties
RUSH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Conservation officers are trying to determine what killed fish along the Little Flatrock River in Rush and Decatur counties.
Department of Natural Resources officers were dispatched to the river near State Road 3 just south of Milroy around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Multiple species of fish and other aquatic life were found dead in a 9.3-mile stretch of the river.
Officials said an unknown pollutant is responsible for the large fish kill. An investigation is underway to determine the pollutant’s origins.
