Officials: speed, alcohol factors in Steuben Co. crash

STEUBEN CO., Ind. (WANE) – Investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in a crash that left a driver seriously hurt early Tuesday morning.

At 1:14, Steuben County Sheriff deputies responded to a crash at Main and State streets in Pleasant Lake.

When officers arrive on the scene, they found a vehicle in the middle of the road with front end damage. 20-year-old Mitchell Musser was pinned in the driver seat.

Steuben Township fire crews arrived on scene and pulled him from the vehicle. He was airlifted to a hospital with leg injuries.

Musser was speeding on Main Street when he went off the road, hit the sidewalk and a utility pole, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department. Officials are continuing to investigate.
