Family escapes after camper sets house on fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A family escaped their house after a camper fire spread to their roof.

Firefighters were called to the 5000 block of Winship Drive around 2:30 a.m.

Firefighters say a fire caught in a camper. It was parked next to a house, which caught on fire as well.

The fire spread to the roof of the house, where it was contained. There is some burnt siding on the house and the side of the camper as well.

There were no injuries in the fire. Neighbors alerted the family about the fire.

Firefighters say there wasn’t enough smoke to set off the smoke alarms.

They are still investigating the cause of the fire.
