IMPD searching for man wanted for home invasion and rape

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is looking for a man wanted for rape.

According to police, the suspect broke into a home in the 2900 block of North Park Avenue on July 26 around 2:27 p.m. and raped an individual.

Police said the  suspect was hanging around the neighborhood a few week before the home invasion and rape.

Police describe the suspect as:

  • Black male
  • Short afro
  • Sideburns going down side of face to the front of his chin – making very thin beard on face
  • Small thin mustache that did not connect to the beard
  • Was wearing a white v-neck, burgundy pants and black boots during the time of the incident
