1 killed in Kokomo fire

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — A person is dead after a fire at a Kokomo residence Tuesday night.
Kokomo Fire Department says crews responded to a fire in the 4100 block of 50 East just after 9 p.m.
The fire caused the roof to collapse, killing the woman inside.
The Howard County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman killed as Judith Gaskin-Payne, 60.
The cause of death, according to the coroner’s office, was determined to be thermal and inhalation injuries due to the fire.
An investigation was underway Wednesday to determine the cause of the fire.
