Medical emergency causes driver to crash van into Lawrence gas station

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) — A medical emergency caused a woman to crash her van into a gas station Tuesday, Lawrence Police Department officials say.

The woman was uninjured in the crash and was taken to the hospital for her medical emergency. There wasn’t an update on her condition as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Around 9:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Speedway gas station at 10010 Pendleton Pike after hearing a report that at least one vehicle crashed into the station.

Officers told News 8 later Tuesday afternoon that the driver of the van experienced a medical emergency, causing her to crash her van into the store. Her van was the only vehicle involved in the incident.

The woman was later taken to the hospital for treatment. Three people at the station were also checked at the scene for minor injuries and were released.
