Parents looking for answers in daughter’s murder
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — 33-year-old Hilary Acton was murdered June 1, 2015.
It’s been a few weeks, but it feels like an eternity for her parents and two young boys left behind. Acton was shot while unloading grocery bags from her car in the 1400 block of S. East Street across the street from a Village Pantry convenience store.
Debra and Roger Acton said they found out about their daughter’s murder at 1:00 a.m. Hilary’s boyfriend at the time called them first giving his version of what happened. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers found her body in the middle of the street.
Mark Williams, the victims boyfriend told investigators two men approached them, fired shots and then took off running towards College Avenue.
He told police he thought this was a random act and didn’t recognize the gunman. Witnesses told police they saw two men running from where the gunshots were heard.
The Actons are now raising Hilary’s two sons.
“I don’t know what I am going to do. Her youngest is 7 years old. He misses her a lot and so does the older one. Please, please, please call police with any information,” Debra Acton said.
“I miss her so much. Words can’t describe what a nightmare this has been,” said Hilary’s dad, Roger Acton.
