More resources available for members of Indy’s transgender community

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Transgender and gender nonconforming people now have more access to resources around Indianapolis.

On Tuesday, the nonprofit organization Trans Solutions Research and Resource Center, at East 38th Street and North Pennsylvania Street, celebrated the grand opening of OPPORTUNITYlink.

OPPORTUNITYlink provides computers and internet access onsite, making it easier for Trans Solutions clients to find health providers and apply for health benefits, food assistance, and job opportunities.

The computers and internet access were funded by MDwise.The nonprofit health maintenance organization offers health care benefits to more than 410,000 Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan and Medicare members.

Trans Solutions, established in 2021, provides a safe space for transgender and non-gender-conforming people. It offers a variety of services, including workforce development, education assistance, medical care, and more.
