Pike Twp. school bus carrying high schoolers involved in crash on northwest side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A Pike Township school bus was involved in a vehicle accident on Indy’s northwest side early Tuesday morning.
Online police reports show that Indianapolis Fire Department crews were called to the intersection of 56th Street and Lafayette Road around 6:53 a.m. on a report of an accident with injuries. That is near Snacks Crossing Elementary School on the northwest side.
News 8 was at the scene and saw two damaged vehicles being towed; a black car appeared to have sustained serious front-end damage.
A Pike Township Metropolitan School District spokesperson told News 8 that the school bus was carrying high schoolers to Pike High School at the time of the crash.
The spokesperson said two students reported minor injuries. Police did not say if anyone else was hurt.
It was unclear what led up to the crash.
