Shipping center opens in Greenwood; will employ 300
GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — A global technology company celebrated the opening of its new central Indiana fulfillment center on Monday.
Pitney Bowes’ 450,000 square-foot fulfillment, delivery and returns center opened in Greenwood with a Monday morning ribbon-cutting.
The company provides shipping, mailing, data, and e-commerce services for businesses. Pitney Bowes plans to have more than 300 full-time employees working at the center in the coming year.
“I came from Ohio. I understand a little about the goodness and the hard work ethic of the Midwest and Indiana and this particular facility exemplifies that,” said Pitney Bowes CEO Marc Lautenbach,
Pitney Bowes operates several other divisions in central Indiana, with locations in Indianapolis and Whitestown employing about 500 Hoosiers.
