Record warmth Sunday, showers Monday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It felt much more like spring across central Indiana on Sunday! We had highs in the upper 50s and even 60s for central Indiana.

In fact, we tied a record high of 62, which was set back in 1994.

You won’t need the heavy winter coat Sunday evening. It’s going to be mild, with clouds increasing later Sunday night.

We may see a little light fog develop in some spots so visibility may be low early Monday morning.

Lows Sunday night will fall into the middle and upper 40s, still well above our normal low  for this time of year: 21 degrees. Look for mostly cloudy skies Monday with temperatures climbing into the 50s by lunchtime.

Scattered showers will be possible later in the afternoon and evening.

It doesn’t look like we’ll see much rain. A tenth of an inch is possible.

Highs Monday will be in the lower 50s to the north and the upper 50s to the south of Indy.

Tuesday will be quiet, but we have a couple of systems passing through for the middle of the week. The first one will be late Tuesday night into Wednesday. This one may produce a wintry mix for the northern part of the state, but precipitation should fall as all rain here in central Indiana. Some of the rain may become heavy at times.

Temperatures stay in the lower 50s for Wednesday and Thursday with rain likely both days. We could see significant amounts of rain as two different storms pass through. Temperatures fall back into the 30s for the end of the week and next weekend.
