Colts beat Patriots on Richardson’s two-point conversion
FOXBOROUGH, Ma. (WISH) — It came down to the wire, but the Colts are leaving New England with a victory, beating the Patriots 25-24.
Anthony Richardson threw a three yard touchdown to Alec Pierce on fourth down with just 12 seconds left.
Shane Steichen made the gutsy call to go for two and the win, and Richardson ran straight up the middle to give the Colts the one point lead.
“That’s huge growth,” Steichen said. “Anytime you got a young player that can lead your team down in a touchdown game winning touchdown, in this league, it comes down to a lot of those.”
“This is good for our morale,” Richardson said. “There’s a bunch of excitement in the locker room right now. but we’re looking forward to this bye week. Some guys need it to rest up their bodies, some guys need it to go see their family. So we’re just taking it one day a t a time and just looking forward to the next game.”
This was Richardson’s second game-winning drive in three weeks. Both of them came in road games.
The Colts (6-7) have a bye week next week. Their next game will be on Sunday, December 15 against the Broncos in Denver.
