Man killed in Kokomo crash
One person is dead following a crash in Kokomo Thursday morning.
According to the Kokomo Police Department, one person is dead after a car struck a tree in a front yard.
Officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Tomahawk Boulevard just after 3 a.m.
The driver and only occupant of the 2002 red Dodge Stratus has been identified as 43-year-old Robert Rose.
Police say an early investigation indicates the Stratus was travel east on Tomahawk Boulevard when went over into the westbound lanes, ultimately leaving the roadway and eventually striking a tree.
Witnesses told police that a silver vehicle was traveling with the Stratus prior to the deadly accident.
Officers also say that red Stratus was involved in an accident on Algonquin Trail before the deadly crash in which the Stratus hit a small pole and part of a house.Both vehicles left the scene of that accident.
The adult male driver of the vehicle was killed in the crash.
The deadly crash remains under investigation.
