New study looks at how to treat patients recovery from stroke
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A local doctor says treating sleep apnea in stroke patients may be a major key in recovery and survival.
Dr. Dawn Bravata led a study focused on this subject and she stopped by Daybreak Wednesday.
More than 780,000 stroke occur in the U.S. every year, Dr. Bravata discussed how common it is for a stoke victim to have sleep apnea.
She also talked about how sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment help the patient after a stroke.
