Police investigating after man shot dies days later

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the homicide unit is investigating after a man was shot and later died at the hospital. Police said it is believed to be a “possible road rage incident.”

According to police, officers were sent to the 1000 block of East Michigan Street on Nov. 14 just after 10 p.m. after reports of a person shot.

Police said when officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as 25-year-old Reginald Hendricks, suffering from one gunshot wound. He was transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.

Witnesses told police the suspect’s vehicle is described as a 2014 or newer four door Nissan Altima with chrome door handles. Witnesses told police the suspect driving is described as a white male with short reddish hair and a beard.

Police were also told by witnesses Hendricks and the suspect had a verbal confrontation just before the suspect shot Hendricks.
