Muncie traffic stop leads to drug arrests

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Two people were arrested following a traffic stop in Muncie Saturday evening.

According to the Indiana State Police, a trooper observed a vehicle turn from Jackson Street southbound onto Madison Street without using a turn signal.

While approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed an odor of marijuana. Upon further investigation, the trooper also spotted a powder believed to have been heroin. Two handguns, one of which had the serial number removed was also found.

A passenger and the owner of the vehicle, 24-year-old Gunner Clark, was taken into custody.  A 15-year-old back seat passenger was also arrested.

Both Clark and the 15-year-old face preliminary charges of possession of heroin, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of an altered handgun and possession of a firearm without a license.

Clark was transported to the Delaware County Jail.  The 15-year-old was taken to a juvenile detention facility.

The vehicle’s female driver and another male passenger were released at the scene.
