IMPD officer arrested for alleged domestic violence
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A veteran Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer has been arrested on allegations of domestic violence.
IMPD detectives began investigating 45-year-old John Constable in June after reports of violence involving his ex-girlfriend, the department said.
He was charged Thursday. On Friday, he was suspended without pay and arrested.
He faces the following charges:
• Battery with Moderate Bodily Injury, Level 6 Felony
• Battery in the Presence of a Child, Level 6 Felony
• Domestic Battery, Level 6 Felony
• Intimidation, Level 6 Felony
• Criminal Confinement, Level 6 Felony
Constable has been with IMPD since 1999. He was most recently assigned to the northwest district as a middle shift officer.
