Donate a gown to those who need one

Do you have gown just hanging in your closet that you no longer use? The Gifted Gown is asking that you consider donating it, in hopes of creating a special memory for someone else. This is the 4th annual prom event for The Gifted Gown and organizers say the idea began because they wanted to help people- plain and simple.

Giving the gift of a formal gown can create moments that many people will never forget. We want to make sure no one misses out on the chance to experience all life has to offer”

Founder Julia Rutland, along with coordinator Patty Hyatt, say the mission of The Gifted Gown is to provide free formal attire to anyone regardless of demographics or income level. It is their goal to provide a safe and judgment-free zone! They add, “everyone deserves to feel special and be able to participate in any event without having to wonder where they will get the money to do so.”

The Gifted Gown is available all year and open by appointment for any formal or semi-formal occasion – Proms, College Formals, Graduations, Military Balls, etc. They also take in donations of attire all year in order to be able to provide this service to every and anyone!
