Speedway interim fire chief promoted

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — In a unanimous vote, the Speedway Town Council voted to promote Robert Fishburn to fire chief Monday.

Fishburn has worked for the Speedway Fire Department for 25 years, serving as fire marshal, lieutenant, captain, assistant fire chief, and most recently, interim chief.

“Chief Fishburn brings a wealth of experience and a personality that enables him to forge strong partnerships with other agencies, successful relationships with citizens and continues to make a positive impact within the department and our town,” said Town Council President David Lindsey. “He brings a tremendous understanding of financial management to the position and has shown a true commitment to the Speedway Fire Department.”

“I am honored to formally step into this role as fire chief for the town of Speedway,” said Fishburn. “It is both my privilege and honor to deliver the highest level of excellence in fire prevention and safety.”
