Local group uses music, concert to address heroin crisis

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – On Saturday, nine bands will take the stage inside the Mill Top Banquet and Conference Center for a free concert.

A collection of artists are performing to draw awareness about heroin addiction in Indiana.

Hope and OVERcoming is putting the concert together. The charitable group attempts to address addiction through education on drug use.

“If people are not educated and don’t understand how addiction works who is going to help you,” said Gina Bardach with Hope and OVERcoming.

Bardach has a goal of opening a rehab center in Hamilton County. This goal comes after Bardach’s son Brandon battled a heroin addiction.

Brandon has now been sober and clean from the drug. He now helps his mother with planning the activities with Hope and OVERcoming.

The group is hoping to raise money to open a recovery facility for people who need to get help but they can’t get into a recovery program.

“This is the largest health crisis in America,” said Bardach.

The concert will start this Saturday at 3 p.m., and run until 9 p.m. at the Mill Top Banquet and Conference Center in Noblesville.
