1 killed in Randolph Co. crash

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Investigators say a driver ignored a stop sign at an intersection before striking another vehicle, killing the occupant.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Wednesday morning crash.

It happened just after 5 a.m. on U.S. 36 near State Road 227.

The sheriff’s office says that 63-year-old John Dickinson failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling southbound on State Road 227. His vehicle struck the driver’s side of a vehicle headed east on U.S. 36. The other vehicle was driven by 59-year-old Ronald Day of Economy, Indiana.

Day was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
