Best of Dick Wolfsie: Cigar Store Indian Statues
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Each and every week, Dick Wolfsie shares a story that has a unique connection to central Indiana.
This week, we continue our “Best of Dick Wolfsie” series with a story Dick did back in 2017.
Dick visited Cigar Store Indian Statues and learned more about the wooden sculptures they make.
“We start with a nice Indiana tree that has lived its life,” said Julie Hollison with Fall Creek Gallery. “And we give it an entirely new generation of life as a beautiful sculpture.”
They are closed due to the pandemic, but are offering virtual tours to pick out statues from their gallery.
