Man in serious condition after shooting on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One man is in serious condition after a shooting on the city’s south side Thursday.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 3700 block of South Walcott Street just after 1:30 a.m. for a person shot report.

After arriving on the scene, police located the 36-year-old male gunshot victim. He was actually found in the area Hannah and State avenues but told officers he was shot on Walcott Street.

He was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious but stable condition.

No victim or possible suspect information has been released.
