Avon schools, Andy Mohr Automotive Group announce partnership

AVON, Ind. (WISH) – Several facilities at Avon schools are getting a new name.

Avon Community School Corporation announced a ten year agreement with Andy Mohr Automotive Group Tuesday.

School leaders said the outdoor athletic complex, the gym, the aquatics center and the fieldhouse will all be named after Andy Mohr.

In addition, Andy Mohr Automotive will now sponsor the school’s Teacher of the Year Program.

The company will donate vehicles to be used for school fundraisers. District employees will also receive discounted rates on cars at Andy Mohr Automotive.

“As you may know, state funding for school (corporations) has been capped through the property tax cap, so we’re constantly looking for how we can do more with less,” Said Avon School Board President Kim Woodward.
