‘Community Sing’ on north side draws socially distanced crowd

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — People gathered Tuesday evening for a socially distanced “Community Sing” event on the city’s north side.

The outdoor event was hosted by the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. People had the option to sing along or sit and enjoy the music at the event, which was free and open to the public.

Indianapolis Symphonic Choir wanted to get the community involved since members can’t be on stage performing.

“Just letting people know that even during this time of the pandemic, we can still get together and enjoy one another’s company and make a little music,” said Eric Stark, artistic director and conductor for the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.

People were required to wear a mask if they wanted to participate. Songs ranged from classical choral masterpieces to patriotic tunes.
