World’s Largest Food Truck Rally in the world lands in Indianapolis for the first time

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Waterman’s Family Farm on the east side of Indianapolis is hosting the World’s Largest Food Truck Rally on Saturday in hopes of bringing in more customers.

“I have been working on this for a couple of years. I have heard about this food truck event and know it travels across the country and thought, ‘why not Indianapolis?’” said Cindy Waterman, owner of Waterman’s Family Farm.

Normally the World’s Largest Food Truck Rally boasts more than 100 vendors, but this year is slightly scaled back due to Marion County COVID-19 restrictions. Many food truck vendors from out of state are not allowed.

Still on Saturday morning, several food trucks were already making their way into the farm and setting up.

“I came in from the northwestern part of Indiana near Chicago because I’m trying to expand my business,” said Turel Cummings, owner of The Bull Grill food truck which specializes in a loaded pineapple bowl.

Jeremy Gomez who founded the rally 11 years ago said the event features a variety of foods.

“If you can think of a type of food, it’s probably here,” said Gomez.

In addition to the food truck event, Saturday is the first day of Waterman’s’ Harvest Fall Festival which will have plenty of pumpkins and fall family fun.

The World’s Largest Food Truck Rally is open Saturday and Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. For more information, click here.
