Independent clinic to open in Fort Wayne
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — A recently-established independent health clinic is opening its first location in Fort Wayne.
Alliance Health Centers, which was created by Fort Wayne-based Parkview Health and its affiliate, Park Center Inc., says the clinic inside the Lafayette Medical Center is designed to expand access to healthcare in southeast Fort Wayne.
The clinic will initially offer primary care services for patients of all ages. Alliance Health Centers says the clinic will be open to the entire community, but will focus on “those who face barriers to receiving care.”
Alliance says it will offer a sliding fee scale discount to those who qualify and will not turn away anyone for their inability to pay. The clinic staff will also refer patients to other community support resources, such as transportation, housing and utility assistance.
“Alliance Health Centers helps bridge a gap for residents of southeast Fort Wayne,” said Marlon Wardlow, senior vice president of equity and inclusion for Parkview Health. “This clinic will help residents overcome barriers to receiving the care they need, and address some of the social determinants of health that we know can impact their long-term health and well-being.”
Parkview Health says it will provide financial and operational support to the clinic, which will be staffed with providers from Parkview Physicians Group.
The clinic is set to begin seeing patients in January and new patients are being accepted now.
