Hogsett adds public health, sustainability directors
INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett has two new leaders in his administration. The mayor has appointed Lauren Rodriguez director of the Office of Public Health and Safety, while Morgan Mickelson will serve as director of the Office of Sustainability.
Rodriguez most recently served as an attorney with Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman PC in Indianapolis. She has also worked for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General and is a former Marion County public defender.
Mickelson joins Hogsett’s administration after serving as a climate advisor with the Natural Resource Defense Council, where she worked with the Office of Sustainability. She is also a former environmental analyst for Colorado-based Mercy Housing.
“These appointments represent critical positions that will guide the future of our city,” Hogsett said in a news release. “I am proud to bring Lauren and Morgan onto our team. Their expertise and public service experience will be invaluable as we tackle some of the most challenging issues facing Indianapolis.”
Both Rodriguez and Mickelson will begin their new roles on Monday.
