Shelbyville auto store heavily damaged in morning fire
SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A fire in Shelbyville early Tuesday morning caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages to a local auto store.
The Shelbyville Fire Department responded to the fire at Sandman Brothers Auto Sales, on East Broadway, around 1:40 a.m. A Shelbyville Police Department patrolman saw the fire while doing patrols in the area.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the rear of the building but the business suffered major smoke damage.
Officials said despite the damage, the business will be able to open for regular business.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene.
