Suspect arrested after short chase in Madison County
ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — Police apprehended an Anderson man after leading officers on short vehicle and foot pursuit Friday.
Deandre B.L. Davis, 27, was arrested around midnight after he fled from an officer. According to police, a trooper pulled up to a Speedway station located at 38th and Scatterfield Road. The officer heard yelling and could see a confrontation taking place between two women and two men.
The officer pulled into the parking lot and the two males fled the scene in a Dodge Avenger.
The vehicle headed eastbound and ran a red light. The officer began following the vehicle and it refused to stop. The suspects led the officer to the Hoosier Woods Apartment Complex. Following a brief foot chase the officer was able to arrest Davis.
Davis was preliminary charged with operating while intoxicated with a previous conviction, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and operating while never obtaining a valid license.
Police booked Davis in the Madison County jail. It was not clear if the second suspect was arrested.
