Chicago zoo worker fired over social media post

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Brookfield Zoo in Chicago issued an apology after a picture of a former employee surfaced on social media Monday.

The picture of the employee reads “At work serving these rude (explicit) white people.”

A loyal customer of the zoo shared the photo on the Brookfield Zoo’s Facebook page and it quickly went viral. The customer said that their employee crossed the line after she posted the picture “tagging herself at her place of employment.”

Bookfield Zoo issued a response on their Facebook page saying in part, “This employee’s statements in social media are in violation of our policies and do not reflect our institution’s values. We have zero tolerance for these kinds of divisive behaviors.”
