1 person killed, 6 others hurt in crash on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One person was killed and six others were injured in a multi-car crash early Thursday on the city’s northeast side.

Just before 3:30 a.m., the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to an accident involving three vehicles near East 42nd Street and Richelieu Road just southeast of Pendleton Pike.

One person died in the crash, and at least six others were taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening injuries, IMPD said.

IMPD has not identified any of the victims, and police continued to investigate the cause of the crash.
