BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A Bloomington woman was charged with a federal hate crime after police say she attacked a Carmel woman in Bloomington because of her race.

Federal prosecutors say Billie Davis, 56, attacked a woman of Chinese descent on a bus on West Fourth Street and the B-line Trail on Jan. 11. That is located about 1 mile west of IU Bloomington.

When the bus stopped, the victim waited for the doors to open and was stabbed in the head multiple times by Davis, according to police.
