3 dead, 1 injured in Broad Ripple shooting
Latest: The third person killed in Sunday’s early morning shooting on Broad Ripple Avenue has been identified as 22-year-old Christopher Lee Wilson Jr.
Update: Two of the people killed early Sunday morning on Broad Ripple Avenue have been identified as 22-year-old Kaleyia Preer and 24-year-old Tywain Henning, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says four people were shot early Sunday morning on Broad Ripple Avenue near Guilford Avenue.
At 2 a.m. Sunday, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to shots fired in the 800 block of Broad Ripple Avenue. That’s just west of College Avenue.
Officers arrived to find two males and two females with gunshot wounds.
A male and a female were taken to a local hospital, with both initially in serious condition. The male victim that was taken to the hospital later died.
The other male and female victims were died at the scene.
Police have not shared the names or ages of the victims.
Officers have not shared information on any suspects. Police are asking nearby businesses to look at security camera footage and to bring forward any recordings from around the time of the shooting.
IMPD detectives responded to the scene to begin an investigation. The Marion County Coroner’s Office is assisting on the case and will determine the cause of death. The names of the victims will be released once their families have been notified of their deaths.
