One dead after shooting on far east side
UPDATE: The man shot and killed on June 27 has been identified as 23-year-old Kenneth Barnett Jr., the Marion County Coroner’s Office said.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police say a man was shot and killed inside a hotel room Tuesday afternoon on the city’s far east side.
The name of the man has not been shared as of Tuesday evening.
Around 3:03 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were sent to the area of 6850 E. 21st St. That is the address of the Budget 8 Inn near Shadeland Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound, who was later pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
Investigators say there are working to determine any suspects.
