Indiana closer to adding sports betting, riverboat casinos on land

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – State lawmakers have moved Indiana one step closer to adding live dealers at casinos at the state’s horse racing facilities, and to approving sports betting.

The gaming matter bill passed unanimously in the public policy committee hearing Wednesday.

The biggest impact of the bill may be in northern Indiana.

It would allow the riverboat casinos to move onto land.

The bill would also make it legal to have live dealers at table games throughout the state.

Finally, sports betting would also be permitted with this bill.
