Meet the 500 Festival Coloring Contest winner

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis girl was picked as one of two grand-prize winners for the 2021 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest.

Abby Mattingly, 12, received a $500 scholarship for her work which can be seen here.

Abby and her mother joined Kylie Conway on Daybreak Friday morning to discuss the contest.

“I was completely shocked, I didn’t think I would win,” Mattingly said with a smile.

Mattingly says she hopes to use the scholarship money to do something creative in the future.

Also winning was 10-year-old Heidi Smith of Lafayette. Her work can be seen here.
