1 rescued after truck goes into west side retention pond
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A person is recovering at an Indianapolis hospital Thursday night after they were rescued from a west side retention pond.
According to Deputy Chief of Operation Rob Saunders, a pickup truck went into the retention pond near 38th Street and Shore Drive just before 9:30 p.m.
Police say one person was inside the tuck. He was rescued from the vehicle in about five minutes.
The victim was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
Pike Township, Wayne Township and Indianapolis Fire Departments responded to the scene.
