2 in hospital after east side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people are in the hospital following an Tuesday morning shooting on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The shooting happened in the area of East New York Street and North Grant Avenue at approximately 12:45 a.m.

Police say a male and female were sitting in their car when someone shot both of them.

According to IMPD, the woman is in serious condition and the man is in stable condition.

Originally, the female victim was in critical condition but has since been upgraded.

It’s unclear at this time if the shooter was in a vehicle or walked up to the victims’ car.

No victim or suspect information has been released.
