2 teens shot during violent night in Indy, 1 dead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two people, including a teen, are dead after four separate shootings overnight.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said one man was killed after being shot near 30th Street and Keystone Avenue around 10:30 Wednesday night. Crews took him to IU Health Methodist in critical condition, but he died at the hospital. That victim was 39 years old, according to the police report.

IMPD has not released any further details about the suspect or victim.

Officers responded to two more shootings during the night. One of the shootings was on North Alton Avenue near 10th Street. Police say a 14-year-old victim was running from two men. He told police he heard shots being fired. He was shot in the legs multiple times. He was transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition.

A third shooting was reported near 42nd Street and Post Road. Police say the victim was transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition. Other details were not released.

The fourth shooting happened around 1:20 Thursday morning near 42nd Street and Mitthoefer Road. IMPD told 24-Hour News 8 someone called police to report shots fired.

When officers arrived in the Carriage House apartment complex, they found a dead man in a vacant apartment unit on Pineneedle Court. Officers said he had been shot multiple times. Neighbors reported hearing four shots.According to IMPD, the victim was 18-year-old Da’Michael Forrest.

Homicide detectives were investigating inside the apartment, where they believe the shooting happened.

IMPD said they don’t have any information about suspects or witnesses. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
