Community holds blood drive for injured Bishop Chatard grads

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two dozen people turned out Saturday to support several central Indiana high school students injured in a crash.

The Broad Ripple Masonic Lodge held a blood drive at Broad Ripple Park.

The group hosts a picnic every year during the Fourth of July weekend, and this year they decided to show support for several Bishop Chatard graduates injured in a crash on I-74 Thursday in Shelby County.

Organizers say the event was a success with 24 people donating blood, bringing the donation truck to capacity.
