Crews respond to early morning fire
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Fire Department crews responded to an early Saturday morning fire.
According to IFD, a call came in about a fire in the 800 block of South Post Road at approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday.
The first crew arrived on scene minutes later to begin fighting the fire at the single-story business structure, Saran Industries LLP. Crews initially reported heaving smoke showing from the structure.
Crews were able to successfully get the fire under control a little after 4 a.m.
IFD went on to say that there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
However, damage, caused almost entirely by smoke, is estimated at $100,000.
Workers inside the building at the time of the fire said they were making repairs to a resin tank with a torch when a residual resin caught fire.
