KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — While investigating a woman’s death and a man’s confinement in February, Kokomo police uncovered video leading to four arrests in separate confinement and battery incidents from the fall and winter of 2019.

The department on Monday announced the Feb. 12 arrests of Troy Wilson, 31; Jamie Travis, 33; Amanda Bogue, 32; and Brittany Causey, 21, on felony confinement and battery charges in connection to the confinement, beating and torture of two people.

Police found 25-year-old Lashay Young-Beard dead in the backyard of a residence in the 700 block of South Courtland Avenue on the evening of Feb 3.

When they entered the residence, they found a man tied up in the bathtub. The man, who police have not identified, had duct tape on his mouth and was bound at the wrists and ankles. He told police he had been confined at the residence for 11 days. He said that he and Young-Beard knew their assailants. He said he had been battered and burned with hot water over the period of 11 days.

Troy Wilson, 31; Uriah Levy, 30; and Steven Allen, 28, were arrested in connection to that case and face charges of criminal confinement.

As police continued their investigation of Young-Beard’s death and the man found in the bathtub, they uncovered video from the fall of 2019 showing two more people who had been confined, beaten and tortured at a residence on the city’s east side.

The victims, a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, confirmed to police that they were in the video and told police about a second confinement in winter 2019, during which the female victim said she was raped. They told police they had feared for their lives, so they did not report the incidents.

Wilson, Bogue and Causey on Monday remained in the Howard County Jail. Travis on Monday remained in the Cass County Jail.

No initial court dates for the suspects were immediately available in online court records.
