4 juveniles arrested after armed carjacking, chase on west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Four juveniles are in custody following an armed carjacking and car chase, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said the armed carjacking was reported around 4:30 a.m. in an apartment complex off Beachway Drive, near 10th Street and I-465.

The stolen SUV was spotted about a half-hour later in the Washington Street and Girls School Road intersection, police said. A short car chase then got underway.

The chase ended on Morris Street where it comes to a dead-end near the I-465 NB ramp from Washington Street.

After the vehicle came to a stop, all four male juveniles ran off on foot but were quickly apprehended.

Police said there were no injuries.
