Arrest made in weekend homicide
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An arrest has been made in a weekend homicide on the city’s west side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, officers were called to the 5900 block of Coquina Key Drive for a report of a person shot.
Once on the scene, officers found a man, 24-year-old Kane Baca, suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Baca was transported to the hospital where he later died.
A subsequent investigation into the deadly shooting led officers to identify a suspect, 23-year-old Corey Mirabal. Mirabal was taken into custody on Aug. 2.
Mirabal faces a preliminary charge of murder.
