IMPD: Man dead after shooting on near north side
UPDATE: The man found shot to death Wednesday has been identified as 26-year-old Dazion Dulin, the Marion County Coroner’s Office said Thursday.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man is dead after a shooting Wednesday afternoon on the city’s near north side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say the shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2300 block of Guilford Avenue. That’s in a residential area east of North College Avenue.
IMPD says officers found a man in the driver’s seat of a pickup and he’d been shot. He’d crashed his truck into a porch after being shot.
Police believe the shooting was targeted.
No one else was injured, and nobody was at the house when the crash happened.
Anyone who lives in the area who may have surveillance video from doorbells or other cameras was asked to contact police. People with video or other information can call IMPD Detective Brad Nuetzman at the homicide office at 317-327-3475 or at brad.nuetzman@indy.gov.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office will confirm the identity of the man and notify his family before sharing his name, IMPD says.
