Elephant selfie getting worldwide attention

THAILAND (WISH) – Ladies and gentlemen, the elephant selfie.

A college student from Vancouver says it happened while he was studying abroad in Thailand.

Christian LeBlanc’s GoPro camera was recording while he fed an elephant bananas. Then, the elephant grabbed the camera with its trunk.

“I got the selfie of a lifetime, which I can’t take full credit for,” LeBlanc told ABC News. “Elephants are incredibly intelligent and it definitely makes you wonder if it was a conscious action.”

The elephant selfie, or “elphie,” as LeBlanc has called it, has gained worldwide attention. LeBlanc continues to post photos from his travel on his Instagram page.
